A patient-led, technology-driven movement, OurBrainBank focuses on changing the state of brain cancer from terminal to treatable, enabling a cure for patients with the condition. Also known as glioblastoma multiforme, this type of cancer originates and spreads in the brain or spinal cord aggressively. Worsening headaches, vomiting, seizures, and nausea are some noticeable signs.

The OurBrainBank app helps patients and their health care providers track symptoms of the disease (as clinical knowledge expands) and manage the condition. The nonprofit organization accumulates reported data from patients, such as noticeable effect on mood, activities, and other symptoms, to help researchers develop improved understandings of the nature of the disease. Since glioblastoma is a complex type of cancer, overcoming the treatment challenges may help discover efficient treatment for other cancer types.
